Is democracy in crisis? Really, I don't know. I can argue that it is. And I can argue that it's increasingly successful as a method of governing.
In 1975 a bunch of policy wonks wrote this book, called "The Crisis of Democracy." Wikipedia summarizes its content here.
I have not read it, but I may at some later time, and I wanted not to lose the link.
