Logophilia and the OED Blog

I tripped over the OED's blog (yes, the Oxford English Dictionary has a blog!) and one their quarterly postings of Words That Have Made It. This one is for August, 2013.  If I were a new word I absolutely want to be on that list, along with such august (yes, pun) members as:

• twerk, v.: dance to popular music in a sexually provocative manner involving thrusting hip movements and a low, squatting stance.• digital detox, n.: a period of time during which a person refrains from using electronic devices such as smartphones or computers, regarded as an opportunity to reduce stress or focus on social interaction in the physical world.
and my favorite from this list:
omnishambles, n. (informal): a situation that has been comprehensively mismanaged, characterized by a string of blunders and miscalculations.

Here's last quarter's update from the "new words" blog post category. Surprisingly, lolcat finally made it. Given some of the other new words I thought it would have been there earlier.

And now, I'm going to prepone this post to yesterday.
